How to Clear a Suspended Registration

Your vehicle registration was suspended because the California DMV does not have current proof of auto insurance on file.  Please follow the instructions below.

Step One:

Once you have obtained auto insurance, go to this link and perform the insurance inquiry with the California DMV.  http://dmv.ca.gov/online/vrir/vr_sb1500.htm Follow all the instructions.

Step 2

While on the DMV’s website, pay the reinstatement fee of $14.00 online and submit proof of your current auto insurance:  You may email a scanned copy of your proof of insurance to VehicleFRProgram@dmv.ca.gov or mail your proof of insurance and payment to DMV, P.O.Box 997408, Sacramento, CA 95899-7408

Step 3:

It may take up to 10 days for the DMV to process the reinstatement.  You may return then return to http://www.cartagz.com and complete your vehicle registration renewal.  You may be asked to provide your proof of auto insurance again.
